Casitas sleep 1-6 guests. Particularly appealing to parents is the lush, quiet and secluded garden with a small, shallow pool, and a larger, multi-experience pool with low entry level, ideal for children. All casitas have a fully equipped kitchen and are spread out, offering privacy and intimacy whilst being just steps from the beach. Daily housekeeping, room service during breakfast, and concierge services add to your comfort. Mindfulness and fitness are offered in a small gym with spa and yoga options upon request. The smallest guests receive beach toys upon arrival; cribs, high chairs and roll-away beds are available upon request. Outdoors, a private patio offers plenty of space for family dinners, BBQ fun and lounging.

Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba is the smallest boutique hotel in Palm Beach, and comprises a selection of suites and casitas plus hotel services. Some casitas are set on the ground floor; others may have ungated stairs, balconies and partially fenced patios. Guests with small children can request a ground floor casita. The hotel is located across the street from Aruba’ renowned Palm Beach and offers comfortable lounge chairs on a dedicated beach section exclusively to its guests. The ungated pools are ideal for smaller children; note that there is no lifeguard on duty. There may be a few spiky plants in the garden. Complimentary beach chairs, coolers and snorkel equipment are available for the beach. The hotel does not allow pets on the property, however the kids will love spotting the iguanas, turquoise-colored lizards or cats wandering about. If you rent a car, there is a parking space available at the hotel, free of charge. Extras include free WiFi, Aruba Aloe toiletries, daily fresh beach towels, spa and yoga services (for an extra fee), a Lobby Café with grab & go items, breakfast room service on request (for an extra fee), front desk and concierge services, and a complimentary Treasure Map with extensive local knowledge. About the Location

The hotel is across the street from Palm Beach in the north of Aruba. It is approximately 20 minutes by car from Reina Beatrix Airport Aruba. The main way to get around Aruba is by rental car or bus; there is a bus stop across the street from the hotel, with rental bikes next to it. The beach area reserved exclusively for Boardwalk guests is a mere 5 minutes’ walk away; shopping malls with water shows, pony rides, carousel and more are located across the street, along with resorts featuring kid-friendly restaurants and specialty menus. Boardwalk is close to many of Aruba's most favorite beaches and snorkel spots, as well as popular landmarks. Accommodation Details

There are 46 casitas in total, including 18 coco casitas, 21 casitas with 1 bedroom, 1 private plunge pool casita, 1 palapa lodge and 5 casitas with 2 bedrooms. They can be booked in combination for larger groups and for privacy for nannies/grandparents. Consult the hotel on booking if you require a ground level apartment or would prefer to avoid stairs; those with young children may prefer these to the first floor apartments. The Coco Casita features a one-space suite with living room and daybed, a kitchenette and kingsize bed. It sleeps up to 2 adults and 1 child under 12. It is fully air-conditioned and has a bathroom with rainshower and a patio with barbecue and hammock. Only 4 coco casitas feature an additional outdoor shower and spectacular hand-painted mural in the room. Rates: $215-506 depending on season and type of Coco Casita. The 1-bedroom Casita features a separate bedroom, a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, colorful living area with sleeper sofa and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom can be set up with 1 kingsize bed or 2 queensize beds, to sleep up to 2 Adults and 2 Children. They also includes air-conditioning, ceiling fan, Caribbean furnishings and private patio with a BBQ, hammock and outdoor dining set. Only 5 of the 1-bedroom casitas offer pool views. Rates: $289-574 depending on season and view-type; additional charge applies for children ages 5 and up for these rooms. The 2-bedroom Casita features 2 separate bedrooms, 2 spacious bathrooms with walk-in showers, colorful living area with sleeper sofa and a fully equipped kitchen. Bedrooms include 1 with a king or queensize bed plus ensuite bathroom, and a second bedroom with 2 queensize beds and ensuite bathroom. It sleeps up to 6. It also includes air-conditioning, ceiling fan, Caribbean furnishings and a private patio with a BBQ, hammock and outdoor dining set. Rates: $366-$668 depending on season. The Plunge Pool Casita features romantic flair at its best, set in a secluded garden, boasting a sundeck with plunge pool, double hammock and BBQ. The fully air-conditioned one-space suite boasts a well-equipped kitchenette and kingsize four-poster bed. Rates: $336-638 depending on season. The Palapa Lodge features a second-floor suite underneath a thatched roof. This unique accommodation offers the ultimate outdoor Caribbean experience, with a 360 degree wrap-around terrace featuring a relaxing bathtub, hammock and outdoor living space with sweeping views. The bedroom has a kingsize four-poster bed and there's an additional indoor bathroom - both are fully air-conditioned. Rates: $323-595 depending on season.

With colorful casitas and plenty of local touches, the hotel is known for its relaxing, truly Caribbean vibe where 'living like a local' is promoted everywhere you look - from Aruba's Aloe nursery in the garden to hammocks and BBQs to grill a fresh catch. All casitas are furnished and decorated in a tropical and colorful style where you will feel right at home. Small peacock chairs and rattan rocking chairs, in line with the décor of the hotel, were added for Boardwalk’s smallest guests. We love the punchy combination of hot pink, yellow and turquoise, the shaded terraces with views right out to the palms and white sand beaches, and the thoughtful services that make a stay here with kids extra special.

Once you "confirm and book" your reservation, the cancellation policy will take effect. Rates are NON-REFUNDABLE within 30 days of date of arrival. Wildlife, watersports and beaches

Family-friendly Aruba is a paradise for kids: with white sand beaches and gloriously clear water to splash in, plus tropical fruits to taste, nature parks to visit and underwater submarine tours to take, there is plenty to keep little ones entertained. Older children may enjoy snorkelling and bodyboarding; wildlife visits include horseback riding along the beach, glass bottom boat tours and visits to an Ostrich Farm.

We took our two daughters (2 yrs and 7 months) here in January for a week. I cannot say enough about how great our overall experience was. Here are the highlights: 1) Location. A true 3 min walk from the beach. The road crossing can be a little tricky, but is temporary and then you have beach chairs and large thatched umbrellas reserved for you. The water is calm and warm and perfect for little kids. Their beach space is sandwiched between the Ritz and the Marriott, which are large chain hotels, that we felt did not have the charm and character of Boardwalk. 2) Staff. Everyone was gracious and helpful from the front desk to the cleaning staff. We even had time with Stephanie and Kimberley who checked on how our vacation was going! 3) Food. The hotel serves breakfast and everything was perfect. We usually did smoothies, eggs and açai bowls and they were delicious and reasonably priced. The staff who served were so helpful and accommodating especially to our babies. For lunches we used the kitchen they had or had lunch at the beach and for dinner we ordered take out or BBQd. They also have a pantry with wine, beer, snacks etc, so if you run out you don't have to street about running to the grocery store right away. 4) The pool. Perfect size and warm. Lots of steps for toddlers to get into the pool. Lots of space to lounge in the shade or the sun. Overall: if you are looking for a grandiose hotel this is not the place for you. Don't get me wrong, large hotels can be great and we have stayed there before, but this hotel is niche and meant for families who want more space and a more personal touch. We can't wait to come back!
