Owned by an interior designer, the space is created with plenty of nooks for kids and parents to enjoy. The open plan kitchen and living room features 5 large windows and 2 French balconies and is a cozy hang-out space. Enjoy the lovely roof terrace, as well, for evenings under the stars. The residence has a large bathroom with shower and bathtub - ideal for kids.

Why Kids Love it

Children love the toys and the beautiful bunkbed in the large and bright attic kids room. Expect lots of Lego, Playmobil, firefighter outfits and a marble run to play with. Many books, toys and nice puzzles are provided for kids from 5 - 10. As well as the gorgeous playground in front of the house there are many more just a short walk away! The apartment has 2 children beds (90x 200cm), one of which is lofted.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. The apartment is on the third floor with no lift. There is space in the hallway for parking a stroller. Our apartment goes across 2 levels and does not have a stairgate. Parking in front of the door is rather expensive but there are several park and ride options; public transport is also an option as it is very reliable. There is a roof terrace. The property sleeps a maximum of 4.

About the Location

The apartment is in the family-friendly Oud-West area, just a block to the Vondelpark and directly on a beautiful green square (JJ Cremerplein) with a playground. The area has many nice bars, restaurants, coffee places and shops. The city centre and Museum square can be reached on foot, by bike or by public transit. A tram stop to the center of the city is 200 m away. It is 20 minutes from Schiphol airport.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom apartment is set across 2 floors. The lower floor has a large open plan kitchen/dining/living space and doors to a balcony. There is a bedroom separated from the living space by curtains and a glass wall, with a futon-style double bed, sleeping 2. The upper floor includes the kids bedroom, with bunk beds, a bathroom with bathtub and shower, and the primary bedroom. The upper corridor space features a thick gym mat and gym hoops. There is a roof terrace with play space and shade.

Style Notes

Bright and minimalist. This apartment features self-designed furniture as well as design classics. The owners favor a minimalistic base with a lot of white and clean black lines. at the same time the apartment has a warm and soft touch through the oak herringbone parquet, rugs, upholstery and accessories in soft and powerful colours. The arabescato marble counter in the open kitchen is an eye-catcher. We love the cozy, cute and playful kids bedroom, and the serene sense of style.

We are a German couple with 6 year old twins I work as interior designer, Rüdiger is 3D artist for visual effects. After a period of 2 years in London, we moved to Amsterdam, thinking we would stay for a year... But one year turned into 11 years, and we have no intention to move anywhere else! We love Amsterdam and we think it's just perfect for kids too! When travelling we always appreciate spacious, bright places with a good eye for interior design and enough toys to keep the kids happy!

Oud-West, Amsterdam

Handsome houses and street markets

This area of the city is 10-minutes to the east of downtown and is known for its handsome houses, busy shopping streets and street markets. It's close to the Vondelpark and is a great place for a family, with good restaurants and terraces for people-watching. It's also known for having the highest concentration of coffee bars in the city.

The Cremerplein Residence was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 1 toddler. Our son was very at home in the kids' bedroom, and he loved the roof deck. Like many apartments in Amsterdam, you'll encounter narrow and winding stairs on the way into and inside the unit. The entrance is on the 3rd floor and then it has 2 levels plus a roofdeck inside. The apartment is bright and clean and wonderfully located near Vondelpark and a 15-minute bicycle ride to most anywhere in central Amsterdam. The immediate neighborhood has a number of good coffee shops, restaurants and markets as well. I highly recommend The Cremerplein Residence.

Our stay in Amsterdam was so lovely because of this beautiful, expansive home, with generous windows and plenty of play areas for kids. The location was perfect for walking Vodel park and for catching the tram downtown. There is a wonderful family playground out front in which we spent much time and met lovely neighbors. The host was very responsive to emails and provided great city guides. I would 100% stay here again while in Amsterdam. My 3 year old daughter gives it her approval too!
