A newly-updated bohemian home in the heart of Topanga, California where the mountains meet the ocean. It sleeps 9. This property is an end-of-the-road oasis of indoor/outdoor living, with a gorgeous fenced-in yard featuring a spectacular pool, man cave, luxurious dining and lounging areas and insane mountain views. It also hosts all the functionality for an easy family getaway, with a large flat front yard for playing and multiple indoor lounge areas so everyone can have their own space to relax or make use of the Pilates Reformer. It’s just a short drive from the beach where there’s miles of sandy shores to explore, and is surrounded by beautiful hiking trails in the hills - just a few miles out of the city.

Why Kids Love it

The house has plenty of toys for children aged 3-8. Little and big kids will love using the pool (when supervised), while older kids and teens can enjoy relaxing in the hot tub too. There are kids bikes (for ages 4-6) and scooters as well as 2 helmets available to use, and the front driveway is large with a flat concrete area for biking, playing and running around. The grassy yard is the perfect spot to play with the whole family, and it’s fenced in for safety and relaxation. Nearby, there’s a wonderful trail that goes right into the state park - perfect for adventurous kids who want to explore the great outdoors.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. Safety notes: the pool and spa are not gated, so young children should be supervised at all times - it’s really only suitable for kids who are water safe. The hosts may be able to set up safety gates for longer stays on request. There are stairs up to the 2 guest bedrooms that are open and could be unsafe for infants and toddlers, however there is a door that separates this wing from the main house for safety. Parking is available for 3 cars - car rental is strongly recommended to explore the area. The house features a dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV, WiFi and a Pilates Reformer in the exercise area. Note that the house is air conditioned but there is no HVAC in the wing of the house with the king and queen guest rooms or the downstairs area with the den and fitness equipment, but there is a ceiling fan in each room and the door to the main house can open to the den if needed for some cool air.

This residence is located in Topanga, California. This is a truly special place, where the mountains meet the ocean, immersed in nature with a pleasant ocean breeze. It’s just a short 15-minute drive to the beach or a 30-minute drive into Beverly Hills and Los Angeles for busier adventures. Hiking and biking trails surround this mountainous area - the street is right next to Topanga state park. From Topanga beach you can cycle along the sandy shores all the way up to Malibu, or down to Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach for some of the best family-friendly tourist spots. It’s around 1 hour away from LAX airport.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. Upstairs is the primary bedroom with kingsize bed and a bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower/steam room. The 2 children’s bedrooms are on the main floor: 1 has a single bed and the other has a set of single bunk beds. There are 2 more additional guest bedrooms on the other wing of the house: 1 has a queensize bed, the other has a kingsize bed. These rooms share a full bathroom. Downstairs, there’s a spacious kitchen with a huge fridge freezer, wine fridge and breakfast bar, leading to a cozy living area. There are 2 separate lounges and a dining room, as well as a large den with a pool table, perfect for letting the kids relax and play or watch TV separately if they need their own space.

Bohemian ranch. This stunning home in the mountains is light, bright and newly remodeled. The space is designed to maximize indoor/outdoor living - you can enjoy the amazing views from almost any room in the house. The hosts have decorated the home with a mix of textures and natural materials, with a neutral color palette showing off an eclectic mix of prints, patterns and artwork. We love the wicker chairs at the breakfast bar, the exposed brick wall fireplace and the rustic wood paneled ceilings.

When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
Hosts will allow guests to reschedule if they cancel within 6 weeks of check-in date. No refunds will be given within 6 weeks.
